Robert A. O'Hara

January 10, 1960 — April 6, 2024

West Leyden- Robert A. “Gums” O’Hara, 64, of Rhimiller Road, husband of Marianne, passed away while surrounded by the love of his family, after a brief illness, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.


Affectionately known as Gums or Bob, he was born in Oneida, NY, on January 10, 1960, a son of Robert “Pudge” and Joan Fuller O’Hara. Bob grew up in the Town of Florence and received his education at Camden Central School.


He was united in marriage with Marianne Cihocki, on May 31, 1997, at St. Mary’s Church, West Leyden. Thereafter the couple made their home on the Rhimiller Road, near West Leyden.


Bob dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family and cherished time spent with his family. In addition, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing golf and card games.


In addition to his wife, Marianne, Bob is survived by his four children; Bronson (Meghan) O’Hara, Pulaski, NY, Brock (Amy) O’Hara, Parish, NY, Remington and Rilee O’Hara, both of West Leyden; grandchildren, Grace, Sawyer, Audrey, Ryker and Haidee O’Hara; one sister, Cindy (Ron) Cole, Blossvale and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by one brother, Patrick O’Hara, one nephew, Travis O’Hara his mother in law, Patricia Cihocki and one sister in law, Connie Lisowski.


His Funeral will be Friday, April 12, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where calling hours are Friday from 1-4 P.M. Private interment at a later date will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Florence, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to West Leyden Fire Department, P.O. Box 205, West Leyden, NY 13489. Bob greatly enjoyed watching his daughter Rilee perform in the Adirondack Musical Productions; memorial contributions may also be made to The Adirondack High School Musical, C/O Adirondack High School, 8181 State Rt. 294, Boonville, NY 13309.


Following his services, all are invited to a luncheon and further celebration of his life, at the Milk Plant Tavern, State Rt. 26, West Leyden, NY.
