Boonville - Robert E. Linsig, 75, of Academy Street, formerly of Walnut Road in Woodgate, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2010, at Heritage Health Care Center, Utica, after a long illness. He was born in Newburgh on February 16, 1935, a son of Raymond and Flossie (Mackey) Linsig. Robert grew up in Marlboro, where he graduated from high school. For thirty-five years he was employed as a graphic designer at IBM Corp. in Poughkeepsie. On March 31, 1972 he was married to Rose Marie Barbara. The couple moved to Woodgate following Robertï¿(TM)s retirement. Mrs. Linsig died on July 7, 1999. Mr. Linsig moved to Boonville in 2000. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Boonville. He greatly enjoyed raising flowers, woodworking, and animals. Mr. Linsig is survived by his caregiver, Johanna King, and her husband, Greg of Oriskany; a cousin, Jeannie Gilmore and her husband, Russell of Pleasant Valley, NY; nieces, nephews, and special friends Rita Kopczenski and Betty Yager of Boonville, and Dorrinne Lyon of Forestport. His funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, with interment in Woodgate Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502.
