Fish Creek-Rita G. (Samson) Flansburg, 64, wife of Deforest C. "Bud" Flansburg, passed away at her residence on Kotary Road while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Rita was born in Lyons Falls, on March 31, 1941, a daughter of Matthew and Mary Cavanaugh Samson. She grew up on McAlpine St. in Lyons Falls, where she attended school. On April 4, 1959, Rita was united in marriage with Deforest "Bud" Flansburg, at Ft. McClellan, Alabama, where her husband was serving in the U.S. Army. After that the couple lived in Germany, for three years, then moving to Ft. Carson Colorado, living there for two years. Upon her husbandï¿(TM)s honorable discharge from the service, the couple resided on the Millers Woods Road, near Boonville, before moving to their home on Fish Creek Road, in the Town of Lewis in 1972. They moved to their present home on Kotary Road in 1987. Rita was a member of St. Peterï¿(TM)s and Paulï¿(TM)s Church of Fish Creek, St. Maryï¿(TM)s Altar Society, West Leyden, and while living near Boonville, she was a 4-H Club leader. Ritaï¿(TM)s greatest love in her life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She greatly loved her family, and also raising flowers, gardening, tending the lawn, knitting and crocheting. In addition to her husband, Bud, she is survived by five children; Deforest Flansburg, and wife, Denise, James C. Flansburg, both of Fish Creek, Joy Marie Nellenback and husband, Jeffery, West Leyden, Thomas G. Flansburg, and wife, Julie, Constableville, and Kimberly Ann Pate, and husband, Bernard "Beaver" of Turin, and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by two grandchildren; Robert Michael Flansburg, on September 2, 1990, and Philip Joseph Flansburg, on December 17, 2002. Also surviving are two sisters; June Salmon, Constableville, Mary Lou Croniser, and husband, Frank, Boonville, two sisters in law; Margaret Samson, Fish Creek, and Gail Samson, Holland Patent, many nieces and nephews, and his mother in law; Jane Flansburg, Boonville. She was predeceased by three brothers; Robert in 1984, Bernard in 1991, and James in 2001. A prayer will be Friday at 9:30 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peterï¿(TM)s and Paulï¿(TM)s Church, Fish Creek, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, Pastor will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peterï¿(TM)s and Paulï¿(TM)s Cemetery, Fish Creek. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday 4-8 P.M.
