Ricky M. Darling

~~Boonville - Ricky M. Darling, 57, affectionately known as Lippy, passed away on August 23, 2017 at Oneida Healthcare Facility, Oneida, following a brief illness. Ricky was born on March 1, 1960 in Lowville a son of William and Joan Wood Darling. He grew up in Gouldtown and was educated at Port Leyden Schools. Following his education Ricky was employed out of state in the construction and painting business. On December 11, 1982 he was married to Sandra Fitzgerald, together the couple had four children. Later the couple divorced. Ricky was loved by everyone he came into contact with and wherever he went there would always be someone he knew. He was an avid NASCAR fan especially Dale Earnhardt. He also liked watching Miami Dolphins football. Ricky also enjoyed the outdoors and took many fishing trips with his pontoon boat on Delta Lake and enjoyed camping. He is survived by his significant other, Wendy Hamblin, his children: Melissa (Lynn Nuffer), Greig, Brad (Danielle Brown), Constableville, Nichole (Stony Tittle), Lyons Falls, and Tyler (Keely Stinebrickner), Florida, six grandchildren: Sierra, Ikea, Greyson, Madison, Carter, and Molly, his mother and stepfather, Joan (Edwin) Sinclair, Lyons Falls, and siblings Dale (Holly) Darling, and Gail (Phil) Bowers. He was predeceased by his father William Darling, a granddaughter Shelby Nuffer, and brother William Darling, Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 3, 2017 starting at 1:00 pm at the Lyons Falls Park. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
