Talcottville - Richard L. Failing, 71, of Domser Road, husband of Genevieve, passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2006, at St. Lukeï¿(TM)s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. A native and life long resident of Talcottville, he was born on July 11, 1934, a son of Olney and Ruth Burke Failing. He attended Talcottville School, and then Boonville High School. For many years he was employed as a log truck driver at his family owned O. F. Failing and Sons, Inc. Logging and Saw Mill Company, a business that he had grown up in and had worked for since his childhood. This business, founded by his father, was located for many years on West St. in Boonville. On December 11, 1952, Richard was united in marriage with Genevieve L. McIntyre at Talcottville Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters in law; Richard E. and Mary (Kraeger) Failing, Constableville, Andrew and Radene (Gallo) Failing, Boonville, one daughter and son in law; Christina M. and Randy Holland, Talcottville, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Mr. Failing was predeceased by a granddaughter, Desirae L. Failing on April 8, 2006. Also surviving are two brothers and sisters in law; Donald F. and Margaret Failing, Robert E. and Cheri Failing, both of Boonville, and many nieces nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an open house in memory of Richard at the family residence at 6632 Domser Road Talcottville on Saturday, April 22, from 1 P.M. until 4 P.M. Flowers are gratefully declined, instead memorial contributions may be made to Faxton St. Lukeï¿(TM)s Heath Care Attention of the Dialysis Unit, 1676 Sunset Ave. Utica, N.Y. 13502.
