Woodgate - Richard J. Knoblock, 60, of Daywood Road passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Faxton-St. Lukeï¿(TM)s Healthcare in New Hartford after a long illness. Richard was born in Syracuse on July 13, 1949, a son of R. Joseph and Geraldine (Sullivan) Knoblock. He grew up in the Fayetteville-Dewitt area, and graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School with the Class of 1967. Mr. Knoblock served his country in the U. S. Army Reserves from 1969 until being honorably discharged in 1975. Richard began a four-year apprenticeship at International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 43 in Syracuse following high school. After successfully completing the program he was employed as a Journeyman Electrician at his family-owned electrical business, Krause & Heil, Inc. in Syracuse, eventually becoming vice president of the company. At the present time he was employed as a project estimator by Oneida Electric in Utica. On February 28, 1970, Richard was united in marriage with Sandra Dailey at St. Johnï¿(TM)s Church in Oneida. They lived in the Syracuse area until moving to Woodgate in 2004. He was of the Catholic faith, and a former member of Dewitt Club Rotary International and Bellevue Country Club. Richard enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, bowling and boating. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Nathan, Eric, and Ryan and Peggy; four grandchildren, Meghaan, Katelynn, Jacquline and Rosiline; a nephew, Kurt; and a brother-in-law, John Madonna. He was predeceased by a brother, David in July 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrickï¿(TM)s Church in Forestport, with Fr. Sean Patrick Oï¿(TM)Brien officiating. Interment will be in Woodgate Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, January 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, NY.
