Ava - Rhonda Faye Hoehn, 48, a resident of East Ava Road and formerly of Sandston, VA, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2008, at her residence after an intense battle with cancer. A native of Richmond, VA, Rhonda was born on September 15, 1950, a daughter of Curtis Ray and Virginia Louise Leber Luck. She grew up in Sandston where she graduated from high school. She moved to the Boonville area twenty years ago and attended Mohawk Valley Community College and Onondaga Community College. Mrs. Hoehn was President of Local #729 CSEA, and an assistant teacher at Mohawk Valley Community Head Start . She received a CDA in childhood development in 1996. On July 12, 1979, she was united in marriage with Daniel F. Hoehn, Sr., in New Kent, VA. Rhonda had a love of animals, nature, and surrounded herself with an abundance of friends. Rhonda was a dedicated and loving wife of Daniel, and loving mother of her three children, a daughter, Rebecca L. Hoehn, Utica, and veteran of the Iraq War; and two sons, Daniel F. Hoehn, Jr., stationed with the US Army at Ft. Benning, GA, and Curtis A. Hoehn, at home, and currently attending Mohawk Valley Community College. She is also survived by a sister, Charlotte Baker, Quinton, VA; two brothers, Wayne Luck, Quinton, VA and Randall Craig Luck, Sandston, VA; and close friends, Bonnie Marchetti, Sandston, Kelly Hartley, Port Leyden, and Jennifer Badaracco, Ava. In keeping with her wishes services will be private and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the USO or to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502. Her arrangements are entrusted to Trainor Funeral Home, Inc, 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, NY.
