Rae Harvey Marcy

Rae Harvey Marcy, 88, a resident of Summit St. the widow of Carl G. "Pat" Marcy, passed away at her residence with her loving family and devoted care givers at her side on Thursday, May 25, 2006, after a brief illness. Rae was born in Remsen, on April 19, 1918, a daughter of C. Ray and Mae A. Humphrey Harvey. As an infant she lived in Remsen, moving to the Harvey family residence on Summit St. in Boonville with her family at the age of three. She grew up in Boonville, graduating from Boonville Central High School with the Class of 1936. Following that Rae continued her education at Ryder College in Trenton, N.J., before her employment with the F.B.I. in Washington D.C. On February 14, 1942, Rae was united in marriage with Carl G. "Pat" Marcy at St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church Boonville. Later that year when Mr. Marcy entered the service of his country, Rae, along with her sisters in law operated Marcy Amusements, Inc. of Boonville. For many years after the war, Mrs. Marcy was Secretary-Treasurer of Marcy Amusements, Inc., a business that operated Amusement Games, and Juke Boxes in restaurants, stores, and establishments throughout northern New York State, in a territory extending to the Canadian border. She held this position within the amusement business until after Mr. Marcy passed away on January 7, 2003. Rae was very devoted to her husband, Pat, her family, and her church. Her survivors include: two sons and daughters in law; Gordon N. Marcy and Marcia, Warren, Pa, Daryl L. and Linda Marcy, Boonville, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three sisters; Mrs. Ruth Hughes, Mrs. Barbara Regetz, both of Boonville, and Mrs. Betty Young, Lincoln, Nebraska, a special niece, Mary Margaret Hawes, Ava, and a cousin, Ellen Strobel Angora, Fairport, NY. Rae was predeceased by a brother, Robert E. Harvey in 2005, and by two sisters; Margaret (Peg) Hayes in 1956, and Mary Wendt in 1989. Her Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 30, at 11:00 A.M. at the Boonville United Methodist Church, where Rev. William A. Mudge, Pastor, and Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen, Pastor of St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church of Boonville, and a long time friend, and former neighbor of the Marcy family will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Josephï¿(TM)s Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Sunday 7-9 P.M. and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
