Constableville- Priscilla E. (Ossont) Linck, 73, of James St. wife of James, passed away at her residence, after a three year battle with cancer, on Saturday, August 22, 2015, while under the loving care of her husband, family and hospice. She was born in Lowville, on January 5, 1942, a daughter of Floyd R. and Arlene Mashaw Ossont. Priscilla grew up on Franklin St. Lyons Falls, and graduated from Lyons Falls High School with the Class of 1960. Thereafter she attended St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing, Utica, where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Linck will be affectionately remembered as the "community and family nurse." During her 39 career as a nurse, she brought comfort, hope and healing to countless patients, family members, friends, neighbors and strangers alike. Her first employment was at Faxton Hospital, Utica, followed by employment at Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville, and for several years beginning in 1965, when she moved to Constableville, she was employed at Sunset Nursing and Maternity Hospital, Constableville. Later Mrs. Linck was employed as an office nurse for Dr. Carl R. Szot, Boonville, before her last employment at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she was a Nursing Supervisor, retiring in 2007. Priscilla was united in marriage with James R. Linck, on July 6, 1963, at St. John's Church Lyons Falls. The couple moved to their present home in 1976. For the past six winters she and her husband enjoyed spending winters at Orange City, Fla. For many years she was a member of Constableville Fire Company where she served on the Ambulance as a Level Two EMT and a volunteer EMT for Lewis Co. Search and Rescue, Lowville. She was also a volunteer nurse for Lewis County Hospice, Inc. Lowville. Mrs. Linck was a member of St. Mary's Church, Constableville. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, observing and feeding birds, especially cardinals, card playing and especially spending time with her family, while spoiling her three beloved grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a Buffalo Bills Football Team fan, SU Basketball Fan and a fan of NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne. In addition to her husband, James, Priscilla is survived by one daughter and son in law, Beth Ann (Willliam) McGovern, Constableville; three grandchildren, Meghan (Robert, Jr.) Cummings, Turin, Philip McGovern, Constableville, and his girlfriend, Breanna Kubinski, Turin and Cory McGovern, Constableville, and his girlfriend, Emily Lee, Boonville, one great grandson, Connor Cummings; three brothers, William (Patricia) Ossont, Gasport, NY, Peter (Susan) Ossont, Lyons Falls, Jeffrey (Christine) Ossont, Ocoee, Fla; two sisters, Maxine LaQuay McConnell, Boonville and Denise (James) Reed, Canastota. She is also survived by an aunt, Sookie (Ed) Penczyk, Boonville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth Ossont, 1973, Duane Ossont, 2009, Reginald Ossont, in 2013 and by three brothers in law, Kenneth LaQuay, 1998, Gerald Linck, 2006 and Charles McConnell, 2015. Her family wishes to send a special heartfelt note of thanks to Tisha and Penny and the staff at Lewis County Hospice Care, for all of the kind assistance rendered to Priscilla and her family through the difficult time of her illness. A Prayer Service will be on Wednesday, at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, with interment to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home, where members of the Constableville Volunteer Fire Co. will call in a group at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Constableville Fire Co.
