Phyllis A. (Ward) Muha, 87, of Constableville, passed away in the comfort of her residence on May 9, 2023.
Phyllis was born in the Town of West Turin, NY on January 11, 1936 to Ernest and Mary Sebastian Ward. Phyllis was raised on Crofoot Hill and graduated from Constableville High School. Phyllis was united in marriage to John Muha on May 22, 1954, at St. Mary’s Church, Constableville, a blessed union that celebrated over 65 years. John passed away on December 26, 2019. Phyllis was employed at several area restaurants/stores to include Hotel Parquet, Constableville Country Store and Stewart’s Shops.
Phyllis had a great love for cooking for others and loved to share her galumpkis, venison jerky, delicious pies, cinnamon rolls and so many other delectable treats. She had a passion for making ceramics and shared her beautiful decorations with many family and friends. Phyllis was also known for her green thumb and had such beautiful flowers for others to enjoy as family and friends would visit on her welcoming front porch. Phyllis had a love for all cats whether they were her own or any in the neighborhood. She had an open-door policy for any felines that would like to come visit and stay a while. Phyllis’s greatest pride was her children and grandson. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew and loved her.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Paul Muha, Boonville; Nathan Muha, Merritt Island, Florida; and Julian (Lisa) Muha, Boonville and grandson, Chad Muha, Merritt Island, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter, Bertha Muha; on January 29, 2018, daughter-in-law, Mickie Muha; brothers, Leon, Carl, Henry, Eugene Ward and sisters, Gertrude Trichilo, Florence Stianoff, Genevive Talarczyk, Regina Higby, Lucile Swiernik, Stella Kornatowski and Elizabeth Monroe.
Phyllis’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to her loved and devoted niece, Berniece Kraeger, for her love and compassion for the past few years.
There will be no visitation hours or funeral. At the convenience of the family a graveside service will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Constableville Fire Department, PO Box 438, Constableville, NY 13325. Her arrangements are in the care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
