Pauline M. Ostrowski

Boonville – Pauline M. Ostrowski, 91, widow of Joseph W., longtime resident of Moose River Road, passed away on April 30, 2024 at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville.



Pauline was born on May 18, 1931, in Pyrites, NY, a daughter of Harry H. and Bernice E. DeCarr Hoffman. Her family relocated to southern Lewis County, where she completed her education, graduating from Port Leyden High School.


On August 29, 1970, Pauline was united in marriage with Joseph W. Ostrowski at St. Martin’s Church, Port Leyden. For several years the couple resided on Schuyler St., Boonville, before settling on Moose River Road. Mr. Ostrowski a retired fork lift operator at Ethan Allen Furniture Co., and a US Army veteran of WWII passed away on March 5, 2011.


She is survived by her beloved son Thomas, Boonville; sisters: Ardith Drelick, Macedon, NY, and Brenda Belmont, Rome, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by sisters Shirley Draper and Patricia Jackson.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Daniel Chapin, pastor of St. Martin’s Church, Port Leyden, will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. There are no calling hours.
