Ava- Pauline B. Miller, 93, formerly of State Rt. 26, widow of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Presbyterian Home for Central New York in New Hartford. A native of Brooklyn, NY, she was born on July 10, 1922, a daughter of Vincenzo and Rosa Venosa Brando. Pauline grew up in Queens and graduated from Jamaica Vocational High School, with the Class of 1940. In 1944, she relocated to Rome, where she was employed at General Cable and at A.T & T. Later Mrs. Miller was employed at Rome Developmental Center, as a telephone operator, retiring in May, 1981. On November 22, 1950, Pauline was united in marriage with the love of her life, Elwood Miller. Their marriage was a blessed union lasting for nearly 64 years, until Mr. Miller, a retired Railway Mail Clerk, passed away on January 27, 2014. Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Mary's Nativity Church, West Leyden and a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Thomas P. (Cheryl) Miller, Frankfort, NY; four grandchildren, Jamie, David and Roxanne Miller and Christopher Donaldson and three great grandchildren, Megan Miller, Peyton Woods and Axton Miller; one brother, Joseph Brando, Toms River, NJ, and many nieces and nephews. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Lawrence Marullo, on Saturday, October 17, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary's of the Nativity Church, West Leyden, with interment to follow in Ava Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 10 A.M. until 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
