White Lake - Paula B. Boor Lynch, 74, passed away on February 16, 2015, after residing at Sunset Nursing Home since August 2013 in a long and courageous battle against the neurological disorder known as progressive supranuclear palsy, or PSP. She was surrounded by her two loving daughters. Paula was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on November 17, 1940 to the late Paul and Susan Boor. Paula received her education at Herkimer High School and later attended business school in Syracuse. Paula was united in marriage to Arthur (Bud) Lynch on November 23, 1974. They resided in Middleville until 1980 and then moved to Woodgate, NY, near White Lake. Paula managed all aspects of the famous Lake House in Middleville, New York, for many years before moving to White Lake. She then dedicated 21 years of service to the Visiting Nurses Association in Utica, traveling thousands of miles all across the region to help others who needed special care. She loved her patients, and several times was commended for her dedication. She was once cited in local newspapers for her quick thinking and calm resolve in evacuating a building of elderly when a fire broke out. In 2007 she retired as a Visiting Nurse to enjoy her many hobbies, including creating lovely stained glass art. She also enjoyed cooking, camping, knitting and crafts, and traveling. She twice crossed North America to visit Alaska with her husband in their recreational vehicle. A favorite pastime was reading. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed volunteering with her daughter Susan in many of Boonville's community events. Paula is survived by her husband Bud; two loving and devoted daughters, Susan and son-in-law David Alger of Boonville, Lisa Nicholas and Dale Wysluzaly of Clayville; three grandchildren Joseph and Matthew Kraszewski, and Jessica Nicholas. Paula had four great grandchildren that she cherished, one brother Dr. Paul Boor and sister-in-law Paula Ladd of Galveston, Texas, and many nephews and cousins. During her long stay at the Sunset Nursing home, the staff became Paula's second family. A Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St., Boonville. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Herkimer, in early May, 2015, at the same time as the celebration of the life of her recently departed mother. Interment will be made in Woodgate Cemetery, Woodgate, NY. Donations can be made to the Sunset Nursing Home Activity Fund, to CUREPSP.ORG, or to the Woodgate Fire Department. A special thank you for the caring compassion of the entire nursing and administrative staff at Sunset Nursing Home, and to her loving cousin Dr. Andrew Faber.
