Boonville- Patricia (Conrad) Kotary R.N., 66, passed away on Sunday October 28, 2012, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a short illness. Affectionately known as "Pat," she was born in Auburn, on September 22, 1946, a daughter of William J. and Freda Walter Conrad. Pat grew up in Auburn, where she graduated from high school. On September 10, 1967, she graduated from the nursing school of Auburn Memorial Hospital, at Auburn Community College, with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, receiving her Registered Nurses License on January 30, 1968. From 1968 until 1990, Mrs. Kotary was employed as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. From 1992, until the present time, Pat was employed as a scanning coordinator at Boonville's Big M, in the Headwaters Plaza. On August 8, 1970, Patricia was united in marriage with Michael E. Kotary, at. St. Joseph' Church, Boonville. After that the couple constructed a home near Boonville, where she had since lived. Mr. Kotary, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and retiree of the Town of Boonville Highway Dept. died on February 15, 2005. Mrs. Kotary was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where she had served as church organist, and participated in the choir. She also had served as organist at St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church, at Otter Lake. She was a long time member of Boonville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary; for several years she, as an RN and her husband, Mike, as a driver, served as a team in the operation of the Boonville Fire Co. Ambulance Service. Pat found great enjoyment in sewing, embroidering and knitting. She greatly loved her three cats, Sheba, Buddy and Dede. In addition to her husband, Mike, she was predeceased by her mother, Freda, in 1965 and by her father, William J. Conrad, in 1981. She is survived by her step mother, Kathryn "Katie" Conrad, Boonville, a brother in law and sister in law, Patrick F. and Lolly Kotary, Boonville and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and her close friends, Jeanie and Cork Zeigler, Boonville, her Boss, Scott Hutchinson, and her entire "Boonville's Big M Family." She was also predeceased by a brother in law, Thomas E. Kotary, and by a sister in law, Jean Marie Kotary Witzigman, and by a niece Lara Lynn Kotary, in 1991. Her family extends a sincere note of thanks and appreciation to the Drs. Nurses and staff at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Critical Care, for the compassionate care they gave to Pat. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Rev. Sean Patrick O'Brien, pastor will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Leyden. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
