Boonville – Patricia A. Koster, 73, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2025 in Rome.
Affectionately known as Patty, she was born in Constableville, on March 14, 1952, a daughter of Edward and Bethany Ammon Dutch. She was raised in West Leyden, where she attended school, graduating with the final high school class of West Leyden in 1970.
Patty will be fondly remembered by all for her gifted abilities in the kitchen. She was employed by various local establishments including the Hulbert House, Boonville Hotel, and Milk Plant Tavern. She was also employed for a time with Adirondack High School in the cafeteria. Patty’s love of cooking and baking was a life-long passion which she was always eager to share, baking pies for local auctions and charity events. In later years she worked for Boonville Headstart as a home based teacher.
She was married to George Koster, and later the couple were divorced. For a majority of her life she was a resident of West Leyden, before moving to Boonville in 2001.
She is survived by her daughters: Patricia (Patrick Jr.) Croneiser, Boonville, and Cassandra Koster, Rome, grandchildren: Isaac, Jarrett, and Natalie Croneiser, and Aliza Rosbrook. She is also survived by siblings: Dennis Dutch, Mike (Mary) Dutch, all of Boonville, Douglas (Tammy) Dutch, Mt. Juliet, TN, Jayne Houghton and Sandy (Kurt) Mazur, all of Boonville, sister-in-law Nora Dutch, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of others that fondly referred to her as “Ma”. She was predeceased by brothers Lynn “Butch” and Richard “Dick” Dutch, sister and brother-in-law Janet and Mike Homick, and sister-in-law Linda Breen.
In keeping with Patty’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service in West Leyden Cemetery, and celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, New York 13502.
