Otter Lake - Patricia H. Horton, 83, passed peacefully while surrounded by her children at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica on Monday, August 16, 2010. Pat was born in Utica, a daughter of George M. and Ellen (Byrnes) Penree. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School until 8th grade and then Utica Free Academy. On September 22, 1944 she was united in marriage with Guy E. Horton at St. Patrick's Church in Utica. The couple made their home in the Utica/Deerfield area until 1968, when they moved to Otter Lake. They owned and operated the Four Seasons Inn until 1978, when the restaurant was closed. The building was turned into their home and Pat's ceramic shop, allowing her to spend more time at a hobby she truly loved. Patricia was a member of St. Mary of the Snows Church in Otter Lake where she served as Trustee, Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was also a member of the Catholic Women's Club and Liturgy Committee. In 1974 she founded the Otter Lake Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was active until her passing. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Tom Abrial, Linda and Ray Plunkett, and Heidi and Dan Abrial, and special daughter, Nancy Horton; four grandchildren, Jeff Abrial and his girlfriend, Danielle, Heather Plunkett and her fianc, William, and Sarah Abrial and her husband, Ryan; and two great grandchildren, Mickayla and Lauren Abrial. Patricia was predeceased by Guy, her husband of 62 years, her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Mike Hiscox, and four brothers and two sisters. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Snows Church in Otter Lake. Interment will follow at White Lake Cemetery in Woodgate. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville.
