Patricia B. Kelly

Boonville- Patricia (Beck) Kelly, 83, formerly of Thornton Avenue, Boonville and John St. Constableville, widow of Wilson Sam Kelly, passed away while surrounded by the loving care of her family, on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Patricia was born in Lowville, on June 12, 1935, a daughter of Walter and Hazel Rocker Beck. She grew up in Port Leyden, graduating from Port Leyden Central School, salutatorian with the Class of 1953, Thereafter she attended Crane School of Music, Potsdam, graduating with the Class of 1957, with a bachelor degree in Music Education. During the summer of 1956, Pat studied music abroad, in European countries. Later, Mrs. Kelly furthered her education, earning her Master Degree in Elementary Education. In 1957, Mrs. Kelly began her teaching career at Holland Patent Central School, later she taught music at Forestport Central School, before teaching second grade at Adirondack Central School, Boonville, for many years, retiring in 1991. On June 25, 1955, Patricia was united in marriage with Wilson J. Sam Kelly, at St. Martins Church, Port Leyden. For many years the couple resided on Thornton Ave. in Boonville, moving to John St. near Constableville, in 2000. Mr. Kelly, a retired lineman for the Boonville Municipal Commission, passed away on July 19, 2008. Mrs. Kelly was a member of St. Josephs Church, Boonville, and for many years she enjoyed playing the organ at various area churches for weddings and special occasions and gave piano lessons to many area youth at her residence. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and is fondly remembered for the hole in one shot she achieved on hole # 2, at Woodgate Pines Golf Course. For many years she and Sam also enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada, in their motor home. Patricia loved her husband and children; they were the center of her life. She is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Beth Fox and Bruce, Boonville and their children, Jamie Day (Justin), Ashley Brownsell (George), Samantha Grimm (Eon); Sandra Earl and Chris, Constableville, and their children, Nichole Earl (Chris), Emily Decoteau (Jon); Carolyn M. Green, Rome and her children, Christopher Green, Mallory Green, Eric Green; one son and daughter in law, William Bill Kelly and Lynn, Constableville and their children, Paul Kelly (Anna), Mandy Kelly, Keith Kelly and Lucas Kelly and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a great grandson, Joshua Davis in 2008 and by a son in law, Phillip Green, in 2011 and by a sister, Nancy Duflo. Her Funeral will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Josephs Church of Christ Our Hope Parish, Charles St. Boonville, where Rev. Thomas Ward, pastor will officiate. Interment will be in the spring at St. Josephs Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are 2-6 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
