Nancy L. Horton

October 17, 1960 — January 27, 2025

Otter Lake, New York

Otter Lake – Otter Lake’s Town Ambassador and Fashionista got her wings on January 27, 2025 at 64 years of age. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.

Nancy came into this world on October 17, 1960 to parents Guy and Patricia Penree Horton to join sisters Phyllis, Sue, Linda, and Heidi to complete her family. She lived at home with her family her entire life.

Nancy was a happy-go-lucky ball-buster who was loved by all who knew her (and everybody knew her). She was a real socialite: she loved cookouts at “the point”, singing to Mitch Miller, Eddy Arnold, and Connie Francis, dancing, birthdays (especially her own), going to the Otter Lake Station for Fish Fry’s, watching the “Price is Right” and “Lawrence Welk” on TV. She also enjoyed playing her accordion while listening to music with Ray, while he played his harmonica. She liked arguing with Heather and Phyllis, coloring, playing Yahtzee, making potholders, and was a whiz at shuffling cards. She was also a speed-demon who loved going fast in a car or in a boat.

To say the least, she made all our lives amazing. She taught us all the true meaning of love.

Nancy was predeceased by her father Guy, mother Pat, sister Phyllis (Mike) Hiscox. She is survived by her sister Sue (Tom) Abrial, sister Linda (Ray) Plunkett, sister Heidi (Dan) Abrial, nephew Jeffrey (Danielle) Abrial, nieces: Heather Plunkett, and Sarah (Ryan) Abrial, great-nieces: Mickayla, Lauren, Kimberly and Lily Abrial, and Evie Abrial.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a date and time to be announced at St. Mary of the Snows Church, Otter Lake. Interment in the spring will be in Woodgate Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life also at a date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Otter Lake Fire Dept. 13853 State Route 28, Otter Lake, New York 13338.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where online messages of sympathy may be made at www.trainorfuneralhome.com.
