Hollywood Florida- Muriel (Follette) Kolasa, 89, a recent resident of Hollywood, Florida, a former resident of Cooper City, Fla, and the community of Rockledge, Fla, passed away on Thursday, march 14, 2013, at Memorial Regional Hospital, South, Hollywood, Fla. For many years, Muriel and her late husband, John, lived on the East Road, Boonville, before moving to Florida in 1964, where they had since lived. She was born in Boonville, on September 13, 1923, a daughter of Mark A. and Bertha Benedict Follette. Muriel grew up near Boonville, on Jackson Hill; she graduated from Boonville High School, with the Class of 1940, and after that attended and graduated from Utica Business School. For many years after moving to Florida, Mrs. Kolasa was employed as a bookkeeper and accountant in the aero space industry at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida. On August 30, 1946, Muriel was united in marriage with John F. Kolasa. Mr. Kolasa, a Pearl Harbor Attack Survivor and veteran of WWII, who was also employed at NASA in Florida, died on April 26, 2001. Muriel is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Dale (Gayle) Kolasa, Davie FL, and David (Joy) Kolasa, Cooper City, FL and Martin (Sandy) Oper, Buffalo; one daughter JoAnn Kolasa, Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her Funeral will be Friday, April 26, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc, 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where pastor Robert Dean from the Boonville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
