Holland Patent - Morris J. Ingersoll, 77, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2009, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. For several years he had resided on Camroden Road in the town of Western. Born December 10, 1931 in Rome to Wallace and Mary (Martin) Ingersoll, Morris attended Holland Patent schools. In May of 1952 Morris entered the service and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his military service he married Odina Bogart on June 1, 1955 in Medford, Massachusetts. Odina passed away January 21, 2008 Morris was a member of the Westernville American Legion Post 1846. He was an avid musician, as well as a loving father and friend who enjoyed the outdoors. Surviving Morris are five sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim Ingersoll, Morris Matthew, Doug (Cheryl) Ingersoll, Chuck and partner Kathy Tanner, all of Westernville, and Tim (Connie) Ingersoll of Frankfort; one daughter and her husband, Brenda (William) Whitman of Boonville, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a special friend Erma. Preceding Morris in death were two brothers Edward and Harley Ingersoll. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m. at Fairchild Cemetery, Remsen, with Rev. Robert Goodin officiating. Visitation at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday.
