He grew up on Jackson Hill and attended the one room schoolhouse on Rt. 46 and Jackson Hill Road, later completing his education at Boonville Central School. Mike was well known throughout the North Country for his excellent guitar playing and singing, in the band which he and his brother Bill formed and continued to entertain folks for 35 years. During this time Mike and Bill brought a combination of music and mirth, over a wide area at wedding receptions, parties, benefits, and volunteering many many times each year entertaining the residents of Sunset Nursing Home and Kortenaer Village, both in Boonville. Mike was also well known for his great sense of humor; bulldozing and mowing hay.
Above all else, Mike loved his wife and family, with great pride and the grandchildren knew Grandpa was a “soft touch.”
