Indianapolis IN- Michael Jeffrey Nellenback, 32, a former resident of West Leyden and more recently of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, in Indianapolis. Michael was born in Rome, on June 19, 1986, a son of Jeffrey and Valerie Nellenback. He grew up in West Leyden, attending West Leyden Elementary School before graduating from Adirondack Central School, Boonville, with the Class of 2004. In December, 2003, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country at Laughlin Airforce Base, Del Rio, Texas and was honorably discharged. While in the Air Force, Michael furthered his education studying to become a dental hygienist. Michael married Jennifer Ring and later the couple was divorced. On March 12, 2011, he married Franchesca Hardy, in San Antonio, Texas. In 2017, the couple relocated to Indianapolis, from San Antonio. Michael enjoyed listening to music and working on computers. He also was a talented chef and liked barbecuing and cooking. In his younger years Michael was a member of the West Leyden Fire Dept. In addition to his wife, Franchesca, Michael is survived by his children, Aiden and Molly, his father, Jeffrey (Joy) Nellenback, West Leyden, his mother, Valerie Franklin Nellenback, Syracuse, a brother, Bradley Franklin, Syracuse, two step sisters, Melissa Starman, Albany, Erica Sawyer, West Leyden, a step brother, Ervin J. Seelman, West Leyden and a special uncle, Jerry Wallace, Appleton, WI. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Marie Nellenback and his maternal grandparents, Bertrand & Lois Graham. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Mary's Nativity Church, West Leyden, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor will officate. Interment will follow in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery, Fish Creek, where members of Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J.Hennessey Post VFW and the Tun Tavern Marine Corps League will confer Military Rites. Calling hours are Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 9-10 A.M. at the church. Michael's funeral arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
