Woodgate- Michael F. Casey, 64, of Round Lake Road, husband of Sue, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C. At this time he and his family were enjoying a family reunion at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A native of Brooklyn, he was born on September 20, 1943, a son of William Joseph and Catherine Campbell Casey. His early childhood was in Brooklyn, moving to Whitesboro with his family, where he attended high school. After his schooling, he was employed at Whitesboro area paving companies, and as a truck driver at Burrows Trucking Co., and for the Town of Whites town Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator. A marriage to Janice Ramsey ended in divorce. In 1977, he and Sue H. Donovan purchased the Chute Inn, in Otter Lake, where they were married on February 19, 1979. After that the couple operated and lived at the Inn, moving to their present home in 1997. After moving to Otter Lake, Mr. Casey was employed for the Town of Webb in the Sanitation Dept., and on the Town Snowmobile Trails. For five years, he was employed as a property caretaker for the late Richard Cohen of Old Forge. He retired in 2005 from the Town of Forestport Highway Dept., where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Casey attended St. Mary of the Snows Church, Otter Lake, and for over twenty five years he was an active member of the Otter Lake Fire Company, still taking an active part in the department's annual "Steak Bake." He was an avid hunter. For the past winter he and Sue resided in Brooksville, Fla. In addition to his wife, Sue, he is survived by four daughters: Kathleen Parent and husband, James, Denver, CO., Brandie Comrie and husband, John, Kirkville, Windy Kelley and husband, Mike, Old Forge, Marinda Earl and husband, John, Waynesville, MO., four sons; Steven W. Casey, Palm Beach, Fla, Bruce M. Casey, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Duke Earl and wife, Chris, Inlet, Shane Earl and wife, Cathy, Willow Springs, NC. He was predeceased by a son, Chad M. Casey, on October 23, 1998. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, and one sister; Eileen Cieri and husband, Louie, Kirkland. He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine in 1981. His Funeral will be on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary of the Snows Church, Otter Lake, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen. Interment will be in Hayes Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
