Boonville_ Michael Alvin Croneiser, 57, husband of Lori, passed away peacefully at his residence, while surrounded by the loving care of his family, on Sunday, July 17, 2016. Michael A. Croneiser was born on January 14, 1959, and was proud to have been raised on a dairy farm on the Fish Creek Road, West Leyden, NY. Mike graduated from Adirondack Central School, with a regent's diploma, in 1977. Mike moved to Edinburgh, Texas, and worked on the oil rigs from 1977-1980, returning to New York and was employed for Law Brothers Contracting from 1980-1992, when they closed their business. In 1992, he started Micro Contracting, which was mostly lite commercial building construction. In 1994, Mike purchased C. Hughes Hardware, from his grandmother, Ruth Hughes, which still operates today by an excellent staff. Mike was always fond of stating "his operation of the hardware store was so successful, because of the efforts of his excellent staff." Later Mike began employment as consultant as clerk / inspector from 2003-present. Mike was fortunate the "babe" introduced him to the LOVE of his life, Lori, on Labor Day Weekend, 1995; this relationship resulted in marriage on June 6, 2015; one of the happiest days of Mike's life. While in high school, Mike enjoyed playing Varsity Football. For ten years Mike served on the Town of Boonville Planning board; at the conclusion of that service he was elected to the Town of Boonville Board, an office which he held for 11 years, including at the present time. Mike was a present member, serving as Commander from 2004-15' for the Sons of the American Legion Squadron, of the Charles J. Love Post # 406, Boonville, and a member of Boonville Elks Lodge # 2158. He enjoyed the game of Golf, participating for many years on the Monday and Thursday night Golf Leagues at Woodgate Pines Golf Course, Boonville. In 2008, Mike and Lori purchased a home in New Smyrna Beach, FL, where he greatly enjoyed visiting the Beach Side Tavern. In addition to his wife, Lori, Mike is survived by his two step sons, Joseph and Shawn Sullivan, two grandsons, Kevin and Colin Sullivan; Mike considered Kevin to be the child which he never had. Also surviving are his mother, Nancy Hughes Scherz, his father, Willis Croneiser, both of Boonville; two sisters, Rita Myers, and Dollie Kaido; two brothers, Peter and Patrick Croneiser and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Boonville Cemetery.
