Matthew D. Cobb

Croghan – Matthew D. Cobb, 30, passed away February 6, 2023 at his home.

He was born on August 14, 1992 at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville to mother Candy Wakefield and Richard Cobb, Sr., and attended South Lewis Central School. Matthew was recently employed as a lineman at AMF Bowling Pin Company, Lowville and prior at motels in Old Forge and in the maintenance department at Nirvana Water of Boonville.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and swimming at Sugar River in Talcottville.

He cherished the time spent with his family. Surviving are his three sons: Brendon, Deagan, and Ethan Cobb, a special niece Ariana Cobb who affectionately called him Uncle Mack, brothers: Richard Cobb, Jr. (Heather), Alan Cobb (Kimberly), sister Kaylee Wood, mother and step-father Candy Wakefield and Mike Wilson, and fiancé Gina Krambuhl. He is also survived by his grandmothers Gail Wakefield and Jane Coe, many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his father Richard A. Cobb, Sr. on January 28, 2020, his Aunt Sally Cobb on July 9, 2019, a cousin Dustin T. Lynch on April 21, 2020, and Grandpa Joe Wakefield on May 31, 2015.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Interment in the spring will be in Boonville Cemetery.
