Clinton, Formerly of Boonville- Mary Ward Kellogg, of Roberts Road, wife of Robert and former longtime resident of Boon St. Boonville and hairdresser in Boonville, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Waterville Residential Care Center. Mary was born in Constableville, on August 15, 1951, a daughter of Henry and Jessie Swartout Ward. She attended South Lewis Central School where she graduated from high school and BOCES, where she majored in cosmetology and hairdressing, with the Class of 1969. Thereafter Mary furthered her education attending Utica School of Beauty Culture and during her long career as hairdresser and cosmetician, she attended many classes to perfect her skills in hairdressing. Upon graduating from high school, Mary began her career with Clair Schantz at the Margo Beauty Shop in Lowville, before she opened a hair salon on Rt. 12 near Boonville, later moving her business, named the Hair Spa, to Main St. in Boonville. Later she purchased the 2 store front/apartment building where she operated her beauty shop for over 40 years, until a fire destroyed her buildings on March 27, 2013. Afterwards Mary relocated to the Hair Company on Main St., Boonville, until retiring. On November 22, 2014, Mary married Robert Kellogg and they lived in Clinton until she entered the residential facility. Robert showed warm loving care to Mary during her final years. Mary will be fondly remembered for all of the joy and beauty which she spread to her family, friends and customers and to all of the Boonville area throughout her life. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Robert Kellogg, Clinton, NY; daughters, Melissa (Bud) Albin, Oriskany, NY, Michelle (Karl) Albenga, Cape Coral Florida; two beautiful granddaughters, Skylar and Kennedy, Oriskany; five brothers and four sisters, Vincent (Linda) Ward, Charlie (Cindy) Ward, Dave (Cathy) Ward, Bernie (Peggy) Ward, Berniece (George) Kraeger, all of Constableville, Beverly Metott, Camden, Barb (Richard) Hayes, Steve Ward, Linda (Howie) Haig, all of Constableville and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mary's family extends a note of sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Waterville Residential Center, for the loving care extended to Mary. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville. There are no calling hours.
