Mary S. Lovenduski

April 24, 1918 — February 3, 2008

Mary Swiernik Lovenduski, 89, of Lovenduski Road, widow of Stanley Lovenduski, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Mary was born in Martinsburg on April 24, 1918, a daughter of John and Tessi Nikel Swiernik. She grew up in the vicinity of Martinsburg, and attended the Flat Rock Road Rural School. In 1936, Mary was united in marriage with Stanley Lovenduski, at St. Mary's Church, Glenfield. For a total of forty eight years, the couple operated the Lovenduski farm on the Gomer Hill Road (now the Lovenduski Road) near Turin. They retired from farming in 1980, and then continued to live on the farm. Mr. Lovenduski died on January 27, 2002. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Constableville. Her survivors include two sons: Richard P. Lovenduski, Martinsburg, Walter Lovenduski and his wife, Barbara, Zephyrhills, Fla., three daughters: Josephine M. Kulpa and husband, Adolph, Boonville, Sophie Sunderhaft, and husband, Gene, Baldwinsville, and Maryann Maurer and husband, Tony, Boonville. She was predeceased by a son Robert Lovenduski, on April 13, 2007. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and by one great great granddaughter. Mary was the last survivor of her family of brothers and sisters. Her family would like to express a special thank you to Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Staff for their care and compassion. A prayer service will be Thursday at 11 am at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 Noon at St, Mary's Church, Constableville, with Rev. Lawrence Marullo as celebrant. A spring interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
