Boonville- Mary L. Pellegrino, 83, a longtime resident of Woodgate Drive, wife of Robert, passed away while surrounded by the loving care of her family and hospice, on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Heritage at Twin Creeks Assisted Living Center, Allen Texas. In 2015, Mary and her husband, Robert, relocated to Allen, Texas to be close to their daughters Melanie and Valerie. She was born in Massena, on September 1, 1933, a daughter of Leo Lewis and Anna Belle (Cole) LaBrake. Mary grew up in Massena, where she received her education, graduating from Massena High School with the Class of 1951. Thereafter she was employed at ALCOA, Adirondack Central School and the Convenient Food Market corporate office. On August 18, 1956 Mary was united in marriage with the love of her life, Robert F. Pellegrino Sr. at Massena, New York. This was a loving and enduring union which lasted for over 60 years. In 1958 the couple relocated to Boonville, where they resided on Woodgate Drive and raised their six children. Mary deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her great cooking, kind and generous spirit and interest in her children's activities. She took pride in her Native American Heritage. In addition to her being a loving homemaker, Mary also enjoyed reading, watching soap operas, having coffee with friends and cheating at cards with her grandkids. Mrs. Pellegrino was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. She was a religious education teacher for 30 years, in the Eucharistic ministry and active in the Altar Rosary Society. In addition to her husband Robert of Plano, Texas, Mary is survived by her children and their spouses; Kevin Pellegrino and wife Dawn of St. Augustine, FL, Robert F. Pellegrino Jr. and wife Daria of Philadelphia, PA, Melanie Pellegrino and husband Ronald of Plano, TX, Kent Pellegrino and wife Diedre of Brockport, NY, Beth Pellegrino and dog Tiff of Niskayuna, NY , and Valerie Pellegrino of McKinney, TX; nine grandchildren, Kari Auerbach, Mathew Pellegrino, Jessica McMillen, Katera Pellegrino, Aiyana Pellegrino, Alexandra Agar, India Agar, Isabella Wielgus and Ian Wielgus; four great grandchildren, Aiden Auerbach, Emily Auerbach, Rebekah McMillen, Cecelia McMillen; brother, Leo LaBrake of Lutz, FL, three step-brothers and a lifelong friend, Margaret Garbarino. A prayer service will be Monday at 9:15 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and 10:00 A.M. at Christ Our Hope Catholic Parish, St. Joseph's Church, Charles St. Boonville, where Rev. Thomas Ward, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be later in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Sunday 1-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
