Mary Frances Grenier

Lyons Falls- Mary Frances (Liss) Grenier, 91, a longtime resident of Cherry St. and widow of Wilfred J, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since December, 2011. She was born on August 17, 1924, in Constableville, a daughter of Alec and Katie Plaza Liss. She received her education at Port Leyden High School, in earlier years Mary was employed at Szot's Restaurant, Boonville Furniture Co. Hendel's Hotel, Love Post 406; her last employment for many years was at AMF, Lowville. On November 24, 1962, Mary Frances was united in marriage with Wilfred J. Grenier, at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls. This was a blessed union which endured for 54 years, until Mr. Grenier passed away on March 8, 2016. Mary was a member of St. John's Church, Lyons Falls. She was a life time member of Charles J. Love Post 406 Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of Lewis Co. V.F.W. Post Auxiliary, Lowville, a member of St. John's Altar & Rosary Society, and a member of Lyons Falls Fire Department Auxiliary. She is survived by a brother in law and sister in law, Aubrey and Irene Grenier, Boonville, and by a niece who was her loving caregiver, Anita and her husband, Frank and nieces and nephews and their extended families who were all special. She was predeceased by brothers, John, Joe, Pete and Stanley and by two sisters in law, Jean Grenier Murphy and Ann Liss. Mary's family extends many thanks to the staff from the administration to the maintenance staff, and to all the nurses and aides who gave special loving care to both Wilfred and Mary, especially acknowledging Casandra, for her loving care to Mary. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church of Christ Our Hope Parish, Charles St. Boonville, where Rev. Thomas Ward will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. There are no calling hours.
