Lowville- Mary Evelyn (Cormier) Kotary, 90, a long time resident of South State St. widow of Richard, passed away at her residence while under the loving care of her daughter and Lewis Co. Hospice, on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who was the ultimate care giver and matriarch of the family. She was born in Utica, on September 2, 1921, a daughter of Jarvis Joseph and Mary Ellen McHale Cormier. Mary grew up in Port Leyden, where she attended school, concluding her formal education at the age of 16, to help care for her mother and manage the family household. With that act of love, Mary set the pattern that defined her life as a person who at many times answered the call of need to many family members. For most of her life, Mary was employed as being a loving home maker; during WWII she was employed at Revere Copper & Brass Co. of Rome. She was also a waitress and had worked at a nursing home. On September 27, 1943, Mary was united in marriage with Richard John Kotary at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Reverend Father Robert Driscoll officiated. This marriage was a blessed and happy union of nearly 65 years. Mr. Kotary, a self employed logger, painter, and handyman, died on May 11, 2008. Mary had a remarkable unshakeable faith in God, which gifted her with quick answers of prayers to those in need. She was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, Lowville. Mrs. Kotary was a very social person, who was talented at the art of conversation. She greatly enjoyed cooking, Country and Western Music and dancing. She had great uncanny ability retain in memory the connection of family lineage of the local people in area. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Christine Kotary Fey, and husband, Jerry, Buda, Texas, and Rosemarie Kotary, San Antonio, Texas. She was predeceased by Timothy John Kotary, in 1998, and by his wife, Tina, in 2000, and by a great grandchild John Anthony Fey II in 2008. Also surviving are six grandchildren, John Fey, Joseph Fey, Michael Gonzales, Crystal Kotary, Christy Kotary and Timothy John Kotary, Jr. two great grandchildren, Addison Paige Fey, Mason Ryan Fey. At the present time, Mary was joyfully anticipating the birth of her fourth great grandchild, to be named Alexandria Elizabeth Fey. Her funeral will be Tuesday, July 10, at 10:15 AM at Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 State St. Lowville, and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Church, Shady Ave. Lowville, where Rev.
