Mary E. Graves

Boonville- Mary E. (Kerber) Graves, 66, of Kipp Road, wife of Eugene M. Graves, Jr., passed away suddenly on Friday, May 1, 2015, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, on January 20, 1949, a daughter of Francis and Alice Nutt Kerber. She grew up on Kerber Road, in Flintown, (Ava), and was educated in Boonville, where she graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1967. On April 20, 1968, Mary was united in marriage with Eugene M. Graves, Jr. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rome. Thereafter the couple lived in Buck Hill Road, Town of Western, moving to Boonville, in 1984. For many years Mrs. Graves was employed as a seamstress at Lally Manufacturing Co. Port Leyden. Later for several years she was employed as a mail clerk by Pitney Bowes Co. for Bank of America, Utica. Mrs. Graves was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New York State Fire Police Association, Oneida County Fire Police Association and Regional 6 Fire Police Association. She greatly enjoyed reading and crocheting. In addition to her husband, Eugene, Mary is survived by one son, Eugene M. (Renee) Graves, III; one daughter, Debra Graves, all of Boonville. She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen, on December 14, 1984. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Brett and Ethan Graves; four brothers, James (O'Sun), Korea, Merle (Mary), Lakeland, Fla, Lyle (Cindy), Bartow, Fla, Daniel (Cindy, Boonville; three sisters, Linda (Roger) Crout, Boonville, Kim (Charles) Tanner and Rhonda Kerber, all West Leyden. She was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Kerber. Her Funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in Ava Cemetery.
