Mary Claire "Carrie" (Bronson) Kessler, 77, of Charles St., passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Mary Claire was born in Constableville, on June 5, 1929, a daughter of Gerald R. and Dorothy Dolan Bronson. She grew up on the Ammon Road in West Leyden, and graduated from West Leyden Central School with the Class of 1947. On November 5, 1949, Mary Claire was united in marriage with Raymond L. Kessler at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church, West Leyden. Mr. Kessler died on July 6, 1990. For over twenty five years she was employed as a telephone operator, first in Lowville, then in Boonville, retiring in 1976 as a dispatcher for the repair department of General Telephone Co. in Boonville. Mary Claire was a member of First Baptist Church of Boonville, and the Up and Go senior citizens of Boonville, where she served as the club trip organizer. She greatly enjoyed traveling on senior citizen trips, and also time spent with her family at their camp at Brantingham Lake. For several years she participated in a bowling league in Boonville. She is survived by four sons and daughters in law; Pastor David S. Kessler and Gloria, Schweinfurt, Germany, Daniel R. Kessler and Wendy, Boonville, Daryl J. Kessler and Valerie, Boonville, Andrew B. Kessler and Sabrina, Forestport, and two daughters and son in law; Katrina M. Bush and Joseph, Bangor, PA., and Celine Fulmer, West Leyden. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Gerald Kessler on April 11, 2001. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren; Carrie Maybry, Scott Kessler, Angie Kessler, Amy Kessler, Hannah Kessler, Erin Kessler, Sara Kingsbury, Jason Kessler, Katie Kessler, Todd Zimmer, Jared Zimmer, Rachael Fulmer, Courtney Fulmer, Nathan Fulmer, Steven Kessler, Bryana Lenaghen, two great grandchildren; Heidi Kessler, Warren Kingsbury, three sisters; Priscilla Wilbert, Boonville, Nancy Keller, Rome, and Sue Boardman and husband, Bruce, Boonville. She was predeceased by brothers James Bronson, in 1994, Philip Bronson, in 1999, and Daniel Bronson in 2006. Her Funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William A. Mudge, pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
