Holland Patent - Marlene L. Koenig, 85, widow of Theodore, passed away on June 28, 2021 at Crouse-Irving Medical Center, Syracuse, following a brief illness. Marlene was born on February 3, 1936, a daughter of John and Margaret Lindovski. She grew up in Syracuse, where she received her education. On December 31, 1974 Marlene was united in marriage with Theodore R. Koenig at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Syracuse. Following their marriage, the couple settled on Route 365 in Holland Patent. Marlene was a retiree from the Syracuse District Board of Education. Mr. Koenig a retired co-owner of Koenig Bros. Saw Mill, North Lake passed away on August 28, 2018. Together, he and Marlene built a life many would admire. Marlene was also a longtime and very involved member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holland Patent, where she taught Sunday School, for many years served as a deacon and elder, was a member and former clerk of the Session, and also served as secretary for the woman's group. She also enjoyed fishing and tending to her gardens. Marlene enjoyed life and people. She and Teddy cherished their summers at their camp at North Lake. They found great pleasure in sharing their camp with their friends and family, where swimming, playing cards and board games were favorite past times. She also enjoyed going on bus trips and seeing her grandkids grow up. She is survived by her son Eric Koenig (Heather Woodward), Barneveld, daughter Sherry (Ray) Wisniewski, Cato, daughter Lori (Bob) Zaleski, Camillus; grandchildren: Trevor, Maggie, Shana, Doug Ryan, Katie and Ivan; and great-grandchildren: Anthony & Jona. She is also survived by her brother Bill (Barb) Lindovski, Mexico, NY. Besides her husband Ted, Marlene was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Pat) Lindovski, and her brother John Lindovski. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Holland Patent Cemetery, Holland Patent, followed by a continued celebration of her life with a luncheon at Robert Post American Legion on Depot St. in Holland Patent.
