Woodgate - Marjorie (Smith) Clark, 76, of Bear Creek Road, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. She was born in West Eaton, NY, on March 27, 1934, a daughter of Wilbur and Corinne (Cuney) Smith. Marjorie was raised and received her education in West Easton and Morrisville. On November 3, 1951, she was united in marriage with Raymond F. Clark at the West Eaton Baptist Church. The couple made their home in West Eaton, eventually moving to Woodgate in 1966. Mr. Clark, a retiree of the NYS Canals Division, died on June 24, 1999. Marjorie enjoyed crocheting, various crafts, and listening to country & western music. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene R. and Denise Clark of Lyons Falls; three daughters, Sharlene Mooney and her husband, Roger of Woodgate, Kathleen Smith and her husband, Chad, and Claudine Clark, all of Old Forge; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Josephine Smith of Rome; and a sister, Shirley Hilts and her companion, Marty McAllister of Morrisville. She was predeceased by a daughter, Christine in 1963, and a grandson, Clayton in 1974. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, with interment to follow in Woodgate Cemetery. Visitation hours are Monday 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodgate or Old Forge Fire Departments.
