Marion who was a longtime resident of Second St., passed away after a brief illness, on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Lewis County Extended Care Facility, Lowville.

She was born in Boonville, at the former Fox raising farm, on the southern edge of Boonville, on June 22, 1941, a daughter of F. Leewood and Veronica Moltz Williamson. Marion grew up and lived her entire life in Boonville, where she graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1961.

In 1946, her parents purchased the former Herman Sears Grocery Store on Main St. in Boonville, which became Williamson’s Market. Later Marion began her employment at the market; in 1965, Marion and her brother Franklin Williamson purchased the store. In 1967, Marion and Franklin constructed a large supermarket in downtown Boonville, on the site of the former Union Block, as Williamson’s Food Land, which they operated until retiring in the early 2000’s.

Marion was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville and the Young at Hart Senior Citizens, Boonville.

A great joy in Marion’s life came after retirement when she served as a volunteer foster grandparent for the Head Start program in Boonville. She adored the time spent with the children in the program, who imparted a lasting ray of sunshine in her life.
