Marion B. Cannon, 85, of Pines Road, widow of William Cannon, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006, at St. Elizabethï¿(TM)s Medical Center, Utica. She had resided at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, since December 2005. Marion was born March 17, 1921 in Boonville, a daughter of Charles L. and Belle Brockert LaQuay. Her entire life was spent in Boonville, graduating from Boonville High School with the Class of 1939. On October 26, 1940 she was united in marriage with William Cannon at St. Josephï¿(TM)s Rectory, Boonville. The couple lived on the Erwin St., Boonville, before moving to their home on the Pines Road, Hawkinsville, in 1967. In the 1960ï¿(TM)s she operated the Mary Belle Hat Shoppe on Main St., Boonville. For many years she was employed in Boonville in the meat dept. at Acme Market and Victory Store, where she was also a cashier. Mrs. Cannon was retired from her employment in the kitchen and laundry dept. of Sunset Nursing Home. Mr. Cannon died June 4, 2004. Mrs. Cannon was a member of St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church, Charles J. Love American Legion Post Ladiesï¿(TM) Auxiliary, Boonville Fire Co. Ladiesï¿(TM) Auxiliary, Young at Heart Senior Citizens, all of Boonville, and St. Patrickï¿(TM)s Catholic Church Womenï¿(TM)sï¿(TM) Club, Forestport. She greatly enjoyed cooking, vegetable and flower gardening, and most of all her family. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly and considered as her children. She was predeceased by three sisters: Thelma Kent in 1992, Jeanne Gaetano in 2002, and Della Riley in 2003; and one brother: Herbert LaQuay in 1940. A Prayer Service for Mrs. Cannon will be at 9:15 am Wednesday at the Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church, Charles St., with Rev. Donald H. Karlen, Pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Josephï¿(TM)s Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church Memorial Fund, 110 Charles St., Boonville, or to the Boonville Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 164, Boonville 13309.
