Remsen- Marilyn R. (Jones) Hoffman, 80, of Old State Rt. 12, widow of Raymond F. passed away while surrounded by the loving care of her family at the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Facility, New Hartford, on Monday, December 28, 2015. A native and life resident of Remsen, Marilyn was born on January 2, 1935, a daughter of Helen and Theodore Yager. She received her education at Remsen Central School. On October 18, 1952, Marilyn was united in marriage with Raymond F. Hoffman, at St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent. Thereafter the couple resided on Old State Rt. 12. From 1970 until she retired in 1994, Mrs. Hoffman was employed as a school bus driver for the Remsen Central School District. Mr. Hoffman a retiree from Williams Oil Co. Remsen, passed away on May 13, 2014. Marilyn was a member of St. Ann's Church, Hinckley and she greatly enjoyed working word puzzles. She is survived by a son, Terry L. Hoffman, Remsen; daughters, Brenda (Mickey) Carnright, Dawn E. Hoffman, all of Remsen; a son Steven (Patricia) Hoffman, Remsen; and daughter, Sherry Evans and friend, Richard Corr, Boonville; six grandchildren, Melissa, Jill, Chris, Cory, Andrew and Ashley; seven great grandchildren, Easton, Ty, Alex, Blake, Erica, Peyton and Kurtis. She was predeceased by a grandson, Craig Carnright, in 2011. Also surviving is her cherished pet dog, Zach. Marilyn's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Lejuana Bradshaw, a caregiver at Utica Rehabilitation Facility, for the kind loving care and encouragement that she gave to Marilyn. Her Funeral will be on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Fairchild Cemetery, Remsen. Calling hours are Saturday, January 2, 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
