Boonville- Marie (Bourgeois) Szewczyk Kuritzky, 84, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since May, 2016. Marie was born near Talcottville, on September 25, 1931, a daughter of Vincent A. and Irene Schue Bourgeois. She grew up in the town of Leyden, receiving her education at the Denley Rural School, completing her education at the Talcottville School. On September 23, 1950, Marie was united in marriage with Edward R. Szewczyk at St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. Thereafter the couple lived in Denley, before moving to a home they constructed on the River Road, near Boonville. For many years Marie was employed in newspaper delivery throughout central New York, first for the Utica Daily Press and later for the Rome Daily Sentinel. Later for several years she was employed delivering Meals on Wheels, in the Lyons Falls area. Mr. Szewczyk died on June 11, 1999. In 2000, Marie was united in marriage with Fred Kuritzky, who died in September, 2005. Mrs. Kuritzky was a member of St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. She enjoyed camping with her husband, Ed and their children. Marie is survived by one son, Vincent F. Szewczyk, Boonville; two daughters, Susan J. Pfendler, Boonville, and Kathy Goralczyk, Westernville. She was predeceased by a son, Edward A. Szewczyk, on December 13, 2009. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and one brother, Michael Bourgeois, Town of Lee. She was predeceased by brothers, Donald, William, Augustus, Vincent, Jr, Francis, and by sisters, Helen Levensailor, Margaret Weber, Charlotte Sullivan and Phyllis Stephens. Her Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on be Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph's Church, of Christ Our Hope Catholic Community, Charles St. Boonville, with Rev. Thomas Ward as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Visitation hours are Saturday 10:00 - 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Company Ambulance Fund P.O. Box 164, Boonville, NY 13309.
