Boonville - Marge E. Larrivey, 88, affectionately known as "Large Marge", died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Rome City Hospital. She was born August 4, 1933 in Teaneck, NJ. the daughter of Wallace S. and Lucy F. Schultheiser Flint. She is survived by her sons Christopher (Kathleen) of Middleboro, MA, John (Traudi) of Cham, Germany, Wayne (Pete) of Baltimore, MD and Neil (Melissa) of Boonville, NY, daughter Kelly of Liverpool, NY, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. The family would also like to recognize the special attention given to her by caretakers Laura Czajka and Tracy Austin. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolan J. "Bud" Larrivey, brothers Robert, David, and Wallace and sister Jean Capron. She grew up in Harrington Park, NJ and graduated from Dumont High School, with the Class of 1951. After graduating from high school, she attended nursing school and worked as an LPN in Harlem. One of her best memories was being the nurse for Baron Hilton of the Hilton Hotel fame. When she was a child, she began traveling to Boonville in the summer, where she and her family stayed at "The Tuscarora," a camp on the Black River. While visiting Boonville, Marge met her sweetheart at what is now Rookies Tavern (ne Whelley's ne Becker's). On her birthday, August 4, 1959, they were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Boonville and remained together for 43 years until Bud passed away in 2002. Marge held many jobs - LPN at Lowville Hospital (now Lewis County General Hospital), LPN at Sunset Nursing Home where she got the moniker, "Large Marge", Maitre d' at the Hulbert House, Boonville, Police Matron, Radio DJ at WBRV, volunteer at Matthew's place, manager of Boonville's Meals on Wheels, volunteer as election poll worker, volunteer at the Boonville Fair, and most recently volunteer with the NYS Woodsmen Association. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Red Hatters, but the things that brought her the most joy besides her children and grandchildren were playing pitch and just sitting on her front porch talking to anyone and everyone that walked by. Calling hours will be Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with the funeral on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Boonville. The interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville, will take place in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204. Contributions of food may be taken to Freddy's Diner, corner of Post and Ford Sts., Boonville, on Sunday evening until 8:00 P.M. or on Monday February 14, from 9:00 A.M. on.
