Constableville - Margaret A. Samson, 39 (again), left her children on June 9, 2020 to join her husband Bernard J. Samson, Sr. in heaven. Margaret was born on August 3, 1932 in Port Leyden to Dennis B. and Mary Dean Quinn. She grew up in Port Leyden, and was the last surviving member of the Class of 1950 from Port Leyden Central School. In her younger years Margaret was employed at Lally Manufacturing and Burdick's Superette, both of Port Leyden. She was later employed as a bookkeeper for the Burdick Dodge Dealership in Carthage. For over 15 years she was employed as the bookkeeper at the Swiss Ski Shop of Snow Ridge Ski Resort, Turin. Margaret found great joy and was proud of her employment as a bus monitor for the Adirondack Central School, where she received an award for 19 years of employment. On May 30, 1950 Margaret was united in marriage with Bernard J. Samson at St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. Following their marriage the couple settled in the Port Leyden/Lyonsdale area before moving to the Samson homestead farm on the Kotary Road, Constableville where she had since lived. Mr. Samson passed away on June 10, 1991. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and afghans, and was a collector of salt and pepper shakers as well as music boxes. From heaven Margaret will now be watching over her children: Bernard (Karen) Samson, Jr, Port Leyden, Linda (Rick) Cihocki, West Leyden, Joyce Samson, Constableville, Tammy (Tim) Fey, Boonville, and Mary Wilcox, Constableville; and trying to keep track of grandchildren: Trevor (Jen) Samson, Lori (Mike) Burke, Kevin (Raina) Robinson, Tiffany (Nick) DiValentino, Mike (Kristen) Fey, Kimberlynn, Kayleigh, Kambree, and Morgan Wilcox, as well as great-grandchildren: Destiny and Derek Samson, Lexi Finster, Rachel and Joseph Burke, Sara and Mike Chrysler, Badie and Kane Robinson, Jackson Donnelly and Dawson DiValentino, and great-great-grandchildren: Abigail and Arabella Alger, . She is also survived by her sister Rosella Wason, sisters-in-law: Gail Frank and Mary Lou Croniser, and her traveling companion/niece Shelly Lallier. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Sharon Kline, brother Bernard Quinn, infant brother Dennis Quinn, and son-in-laws: Al Robinson and Jessie Wilcox. Margaret's family wishes to express deep appreciation to the staff of Lowville Search & Rescue as well as Mercy Flight for the professional and prompt care given to their mother. Her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Nativity Church, West Leyden, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo will officiate. Interment next to her husband will be in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Fish Creek. Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
