Marcel Keith Joslin

Keith Joslin, 80, of Wingert Road, husband of the late Karla Earl Joslin, passed away Friday, February 10, 2006, at Rome Memorial Hospital. Keith was born February 28, 1925 in Hawkinsville, a son of Geoffrey Jay and Annis C. Williams Joslin. He grew up in Hawkinsville, and after graduating from Boonville High School with the Class of 1943 he entered into the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theatre of World War II with the 69th Infantry Division. After returning from the Army he was employed at Monroe Manufacturing Co., Boonville, before moving to Chittenango where he was employed at A&P Tea Co. of Syracuse. In 1963 he purchased and operated the "Early Bird" diner on Route 28, between Alder Creek and Forestport, for 15 years. For many years Mr. Joslin was employed as a carpenter in the Boonville area and for several years he worked for the Forestport Water Department. On February 23, 1952 he was united in marriage with Karla Earl in Great Bend, PA. She died February 17, 1991. Keith was a member of the Hawkinsville United Methodist Church. He is survived by two step-daughters: Jean VanBuskirk and Nancy Elgosin, both of Boonville; one step-grandson: George "Skip" VanBuskirk of Constableville; and one sister: Shirley Joslin of Florida. He was predeceased by four brothers: Stanton, Weldon, L. George, and Ellsworth Joslin. The funeral will be on Sunday at 5 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, with Rev. William Mudge, Pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Joslin Cemetery, Hawkinsville. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 P.M. until the time of the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, P.O.
