Sharon Springs ï¿" Mae E. Damuth King, 70, of Staleyville Road, wife of George King, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at her home. Mae was a proud twenty year survivor of cancer. She was born on September 14, 1937 in Turin, a daughter of Madge Jackson Damuth and the late Ralph H. Damuth of Boonville. Mae graduated from Port Leyden Central School in 1956 and then honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. She had various waitressing jobs and worked at Beech-Nut, Canajoharie, for ten years. She was united in marriage with her husband George on December 18, 1976. Mae was a life member of the Harland J. Hennessey VFW Post 5538 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of the Marine Corps League. In addition to her husband of 31 years, George, and her mother, Madge of Sharon Springs, she is survived by four daughters: Rose Buck of Canajoharie, Mrs. Anthony (Kay) Vecchio of Amsterdam, Mrs. Richard (Anita) Cirtwell of Sprakers, and Cathleen Cables and her companion Arnold Baumann of Mohawk; two sons: Alan Buck and wife Kathy of Fonda, and Gerry King of Sprakers; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and her faithful K-9 companion: Brady; and a step-daughter: Mrs. James (Cynthia) Meloy of Burgettstown, PA. Mae was the oldest of four children; two sisters: Alice Damuth of Schenectady, and Betty Damuth of Tupelo, MS; and one brother: Ralph Damuth of Bering, ME. Also surviving are three aunts: Doreen Carpenter and Jane Flansburg, both of Boonville, and Edna Jackson of Lowville. She was predeceased by twin daughters, Amy and Ann Buck, her first husband, Myron Buck, and her second husband, Robert Kimball. The funeral service for Mrs. King will be at 1 pm Monday at the Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, with Pastor Joe Feller, Pastor of the Boonville First Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11 am to 1 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
