Lyle C. Wiedrick, 84, of West Main St., husband of Lucy, a former employee at Snow Ridge Ski Area, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Boonville, where he had resided for the past year. Mr. Wiedrick was born in Greenway, on March 23, 1922, a son of Norman and Mary Carver Wiedrick. He grew up in Turin and graduated from Turin Union School with the Class of 1941. In November of 1942 he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in WW II until December, 1945. On August 15, 1942, Lyle was united in marriage with Lucy Jones in Utica. After his honorable discharge from the military, the couple lived in Rome, where he was employed at Revere Copper & Brass Co., moving to their present home on West Main St. in the 1950ï¿(TM)s. From 1971 until he retired in 1984, he was empoyed in the maintenance department of Kraft Food Company of Lowville, and then for over twenty years he was employed at the Snow Ridge Ski Area of Turin. During that time, Mr. Wiedrick was also employed as a caretaker for Mrs. Mae R. Gould of Lyons Falls. From 1978 until 1981, Mr. Wiedrick was the Town Supervisor for the Town of Turin. He was a member of Turin United Methodist Church, and the Turn Volunteer Fire Company. One of the great joys of his life was the game of Horseshoes. He was a member of the National Horseshow Association, and he had attended several World Class Horseshoe Tournaments. He was an avid Syracuse University Orange (Basketball) Fan, and he enjoyed hunting and all kinds of fishing. In addition to his wife, Lucy, he is survived by six children: Norman and wife, Kathy Wiedrick, Pueblo, Col., Rosalind Drager, Columbia, MI., Thomas and wife, Cynthia Wiedrick, Port Leyden, David Wiedrick and wife, Patricia, Nancy and Husband, Theodore Simonds, both of Turin, Jan and husband, Duane Bush, Wrightstown, WI, thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl.
