Boonville- Lydia (Zeller) Marcy, 95, a longtime resident of Potato Hill Road, widow of William J. Marcy, Sr., passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Lydia was born at Irish Ridge, NY, (Verona) on August 14, 1924, a daughter of Gottfried and Louisa Grunenwald Zeller. She grew up at Hillside, near Boonville and graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1941. For forty years she was employed as a Classification Clerk at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. On June 1, 1946, Lydia was united in marriage with the love of her life, and dancing partner, William James "Bill" Marcy, Sr. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Rome. This was a blessed union which continued for 64 years until Mr. Marcy passed away on March 31, 2011. For 64 years the couple resided on Potato Hill Road, where they operated a farm. Mrs. Marcy was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Rome. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, crossword puzzles, county music and dancing with her husband Bill to the East Road Rhythm Riders and the Williamson Brothers, North Country Boys. She is survived by two sons and two daughters in law; William and Sallie Marcy and Walter (Bud) and Mary Marcy, all of Boonville and one daughter and son in law, Debra and William Peach, Forestport; grandchildren, Amber Marcy-Wheeler (Dan) Sarah Marcy (Shawn Maloney), Shana Lindenmayer (Ben), Lauren (Ed) Coffin, Ryan Peach (Cheryl Shafer) and Melissa Peach; great grandchildren, Jared and Justin Maloney, Ryder and Sydney Wheeler and Gavin and Luke Coffin. Also surviving is one sister, Hilda LoRusso, Rome. She was predeceased by sisters, Frieda Glur, Rosa Waliszewski, Martha Platt, Bertha Brownell, Clara Platt and by a brother, Alfred Zeller. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Lydia's caregivers, Beth and Katherine Beyel and Wendy Page. Services with interment in Boonville Cemetery will be planned for a later date.
