Lorene U. Lallier

Boonville – Lorene U. Lallier, 87, widow of Bernie, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.


She was born on September 6, 1936, a daughter of Gerald and Gladys Cogswell Urtz, in West Leyden, NY, where she received her education graduating with from West Leyden High School. On November 9, 1957 Lorene was united in marriage with Bernard L. Lallier at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. In 1958 the couple purchased their home on Route 294 in Boonville where they raised their children and have since lived. Mr. Lallier a retired aircraft mechanic and U.S. Air Force veteran passed away on December 27, 2013.


Lorene was employed as a telephone operator in Boonville for many years retiring from Continental Telephone Co. Mrs. Lallier very much enjoyed country western music and traveled around the north country with her husband Bernie, who was a member of the Rhythm Riders Band. The couple also enjoyed camping, and playing bingo and pitch. In later years Lorene has enjoyed crocheting and sewing as well as a good word search.


Time spent with her children and grandchildren was what brought her great joy. She is survived by her two daughters and sons in law, Debbie (Martin) Shue, Port Leyden, Darlene (Joseph) Hulbert, Remsen; one son and daughter in law, Darren (Tracy) Lallier, Boonville; her grandchildren, Mandy (Nate) Addley, Douglas (Karin) Brinkerhoff, Michael Shue and Monica, Bethany and Audrey Lallier, one great-grandson Joseph Brinkerhoff; one sister-in-law: Clara Julian, one brother-in-law Louie Levesque, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law: Russell and Sally Urtz, and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard, Tom, Claude, Paul, Charlie, George, John and Joe Levesque, Patty Watson, Marie Burnham, Bernice Galloway.


In keeping with Lorene’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Resident Activities Fund, 232 Academy Street, Boonville, NY 13309.
