Lonny R. Jenks, 48, of Douglas St., passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at University Hospital in Syracuse, after a long illness. He was born in Rome, on June 25, 1958, a son of Robert and Mary Lou Weiler Jenks. Lonny grew up in Boonville, where he graduated from Adirondack High School with the Class of 1977. While in high school he was talented at and enjoyed playing football, and wrestling. For several years until illness forced him to retire, Mr. Jenks was employed as a carpenter for Thimes and B.S. McCarey Construction Company, of Rome. Lonny greatly enjoyed hunting, the out of doors and carpentry. He had attended St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church, Boonville. In addition to his parents of Boonville, Lonny is survived by four sisters: Robin Jenks, Putney, VT., Shelly and husband, John Pfeiffer, Roxanne, and husband Dave Botsford, Renee and husband, Joe Scheve, all of Boonville, one brother; Craig Jenks and his wife, Tammy, Boonville. He was predeceased by a brother Kevin in 1995. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, two great nephews, and a special friend, Val. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 A.M. at St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church, Boonville, with Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Josephï¿(TM)s Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Monday 6-8 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Leyden Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, or to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lyons St. P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, N.Y. 13057-0007.
