Linda S. Mcphilmy

Linda S. (Satterly) McPhilmy, 62, of Boone St., wife of Jack McPhilmy, passed away while surrounded by the care of her loving family, and hospice staff, on Tuesday evening, May 8, at the Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford. A native of Boonville, Linda was born on March 27, 1945, a daughter of Everett F. and Rhena C. Hurlburt Satterly. She grew up in Boonville, where she attended school. On September 14, 1968, Linda was united in marriage with John L. (Jack) McPhilmy in Syracuse, N.Y. After that they lived in New London Ct., where Jack was stationed at the submarine base of the U.S. Navy. In 1978, the couple moved back to Boonville, where they lived on Erwin St. For several years Linda was employed in beauty salons in Rome, and Syracuse, and then she operated Scissor Magic Boutique at her residence in Boonville. Linda was a member of Boonville United Methodist Church, and participated in the Wednesday morning Bible Study, served as a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of Boonville United Methodist Women. She was a member of and travel coordinator for the Women of Faith Group. Mrs. McPhilmy was also a member of Burning Bush Altrea, and for several years including the present time she was a member of the Walk To Emmaus Group, and was the Rectoria of one walk. The love of Lindaï¿(TM)s Creator was reflected to all by the kindness she rendered to others throughout her life. Linda was the founder in this region of Operation Christmas Child, a ministry centering on filling shoe boxes with a Holy Bible, other educational items and small toys. These boxes are sent world wide to children living in poverty. At the present time Linda was the Upstate New York Regional Director of Operation Christmas Child, and she traveled to Ghana, Africa, to distribute boxes to school children in that region. I n addition to her husband, Jack, Linda is survived by two sons; Daniel F. McPhilmy, Paul B. McPhilmy, both of Boonville, one daughter; Erinn E. Lundgren, and husband Jeremy, Jacksonville, N.C., three grandchildren; Bryce Lundgren, Samual McPhilmy, Owen McPhilmy, four brothers; Everett E. Satterly, Jr., and wife Irilla, Zyphrhills, Fla., Robert I. Satterly, and wife Mary, Ocean City, N.J., Glenn D. Satterly, Port Leyden, A. Richard (Dick) Satterly, and wife Joann, Boonville, two sisters; Jean Greco, Clinton, and Caryl Donnelly, Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by a brother Donald Satterly in 1963, and by a sister Bertha E. Satterly, in 1998. Her Funeral Service will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Boonville United Methodist Church, Main St., where Rev. William A. Mudge, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday and Friday 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
