Linda L. Crout Turin- Linda L. (Kerber) Crout, 61, of East Main St., widow of Pastor Roger J. and a former longtime resident of Flinttown Road, Ava, passed away after a long illness, on Monday, April 25, 2016, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. At the time of her passing, Linda was surrounded by the loving care of her family. She was born in Rome, on April 7, 1955, a daughter of Francis F. and Alice J. Nutt Kerber. Linda received her education at Adirondack Central School, Boonville. Later she was employed at the Milk Plant Tavern, West Leyden, Rock Patch Tavern, Lyons Falls, and lastly as a dish washer at Steak ' N Brew Restaurant, Turin. On December 6, 1992, she was united in marriage with Roger James Crout, in Lyons Falls. Thereafter the couple lived on Flinttown Road, near Ava, moving to her present home in Turin in November, 2015. Mr. Crout, who had studied and became a pastor in the South Lewis Parish of United Methodist Churches, passed away on February 21, 2016. At the present time, Linda, was happily anticipating a return to her former home on Flinttown Road. Mrs. Crout was a member of the Turin United Methodist Church, where she had enjoyed assisting with the operation of the Sunday school and a former member of the Ava Hilltop United Methodist Church. Linda greatly enjoyed reading. She is survived by one son, Travis M. Kerber, Turin; four brothers, James (Osun) Kerber, Korea, Merle (Mary) Kerber, Lakeland, FL, Lyle (Cindy) Kerber, Barto, FL, Daniel (Cindy) Boonville; two sisters, Kim (Chuck) Tanner and Rhonda Kerber, all of West Leyden. Linda was predeceased by two sisters, Bonnie J. Kerber, in 1965, and Mary E. Graves, on May 1, 2015, and her parents, Francis and Alice Kerber. Also surviving is a brother in law, Eugene Graves, Jr. Hawkinsville, and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Her Funeral will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Pastor Denise Bowen, from the Boonville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Visitation hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment for both Linda and Roger will follow the funeral services in Ava Cemetery, with Military Rites for Roger, rendered by Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post VFW and Tun Tavern Marine Corps League, all of Boonville. Memorial Contributions may be made to her family, C/O 1581 Flinttown Road, Boonville, NY 13309.
