Lillian B. 'Lilly And Grand Fey

October 22, 1914 — August 9, 2006

Lillian B. "Lilly" Fey, 91, affectionately known as "Grandma Fey," to generations of West Leyden area children, and a long time resident of Osceola Road, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at Sunset Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, with her loving family and wonderful nursing staff at her side. She was born in Rock Springs, on the Osceola Road, in the Town of Lewis, on October 22, 1914, a daughter of Frank and Lucinda Fey Cogswell. For a time she lived in West Ava, where she attended school, later moving with her family to West Leyden where she attended the Rock Springs school. On August 9, 1939, Lillian was united in marriage with Russell U. Fey, in Rome. After that they lived in a camp on Point Rock Creek, until 1948, when they built a home on the Osceola Road, near West Leyden. For many years, Mrs. Fey was employed in the care and raising of many children in the West Leyden area, earning her the title of "Grandma Fey." She also enjoyed baking and her pets. Mr. Fey died on February 24, 1977. Lillian is survived by one daughter, Charlene Jones, West Leyden, three granddaughters; Terry Jones, Lyonsdale, Mrs. Joseph Chaisson, (Crystal,) West Leyden, Lindsay Jones, Auburn, one great grandson. Joseph Chaisson, Jr., one brother and sister in law, Arnold and Grace Cogswell, Norman, Oklahoma. She is also survived by three nieces and two nephews, among them a special niece, Lorene Lallier who was very close to her. She was predeceased by one son, PFC Larry D. Fey, who died in the service in June 1963, and by one sister, Mrs. Gladys Urtz. She was also predeceased by her special friend, Frank Parsons. Her Funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Pastor Joseph Feller, will officate. Interment will be in West Leyden Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Co. Humane Society 6388 Pine Grove Road Glenfield, NY 13343.
