Constableville - Lili H. Krakowski, 90, widow of Mordehai, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2020 at home. Lili was born in Berlin, Germany on July 24, 1930, a daughter of Menko Max and Sophie Prins Hirsch. At the age of eight, together with her family she moved to New York City to escape the Hitler regime. Lili completed her secondary education through Rochester Institute of Technology's School for American Craftsman. She then returned to New York City where she was employed for various publishing houses, retiring as the copy editor of religious literature for the McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. In November 1956 she was married to Mordehai Elieser Krakowski. In 1966 the couple purchased a farm outside Constableville and made it their home in 1973. Mr. Krakowski passed away on October 11, 2019. Lili enjoyed gardening, and was a well-known potter, selling her artistry at The Munson-Williams Proctor Art Institute, Utica. Lili was also a published author, and wrote articles for various magazines and publications. Lili is survived by one sister Julia of New Paltz, NY, and several nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
